Día de conversión del programa MPC: las bases se cerraban sin aviso y las tropas canjeaban la serie vigente por la nueva. La serie saliente quedaba sin valor de la noche a la mañana, de modo que nadie —ni el mercado negro— pudiera acumularla.

A Military Payment Certificate conversion day: bases closed without notice and troops exchanged the current series for the new one. The outgoing series became worthless overnight, so neither personnel nor the black market could stockpile it.
